Akrobatik Rips the Official DJ Beanz Intro

If youre not familiar with Akrobatik, well....you should stop depriving yourself and do your research. This Beantown representa happens to be one of my favorite MCs of all time, and it was an honor to have him bless a minute and half of funk just for me!! Check this out!

Akrobatik is a rapper who hails from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He has collaborated numerous times with many fellow Boston rappers, and recently formed a hip hop collective named The Perceptionists with Mr. Lif and DJ Fakts One.

In 1998, Akrobatik released his first single, Ruff Enough, on Boston's Detonator Records label. His second single was released on the Independent New York label Rawkus, Internet MCs, but it was his next release, Say Yes Say Word, that achieved anthem status and solidified Akrobatik's reputation as a talented MC.

Akrobatik has thus gained respect on the Boston hip-hop scene and beyond by combining political consciousness with battle style aggressiveness in his lyrics.

Akrobatik's music has appeared on television shows like HBO’s The Wire and ESPN’s Playmakers, in films such as Date Movie and Wholetrail. He is also featured on Snacky Chan's album Part of the Nation, as well as in games such as NBA Live ’06, Frequency, Need for Speed Most Wanted and the popular Playstation 2 game, Amplitude, where he raps in the song, "Out the Box", as well as providing voiceovers for tutorials.

Akrobatik raps the daily sports news to Boston via the "Sports Wrap-Up", broadcast on the Ramiro and Pebbles Morning Show, on Boston hip-hop radio station JAM'N 94.5.

In December 2005, Akrobatik signed to Fat Beats Records. The Brooklyn-based label released his second full-length album, Absolute Value, on February 19, 2008.

Props to my fav DJs

I just want to take a second and shout out my two favorite DJs. DJ Ykcor & Da' Hitman. In my oppinion these two are the most talented DJs (with completely unparralled styles) in the game right now. Both practice all out turntablisim and really hold it down for the unheard talent which is ideally what I look for in a good DJ, not the screaming and sound effects found on most mixtapes. Ykcor's ability to remix and scratch up a track keeps me anxious for his next mix to drop and the diversity in his mixes never cease to amaze me, always worth the download. Da' Hitman....where do I start? First of all many of his projects are more like movies, he keeps a theme going making the majority of his tapes rideable from top to bottom, and when it comes to a good blend and chops....no one can top his unique styles. Not to mention they are both producers and I've never heard anything less than fire from either one. That's only the beginning, they are both truly masters of their craft and rather than going on and on (which i could do) you should just get familiar with them every Saturday night on www.swurvradio.com
DJ Ykcor 6pm-7pm EST
Da' Hitman "Unique Styles" show at 9pm-10pm EST

I must also take a moment to thank them for helping me grow and being mentors to me. I've had the privledge to work with both of them on seperate mixtapes and on one with our Third Coast DJ brother T-Dubb "Third Coast Party" vol 1 (which you can check out on an earlier post)
These guys contributed to putting my faith back in hip-hop, you'll see why!!!
get at them on twitter

This is easily my favorite mixtape to let ride when im just chillin. A perfect example of their styles in one mixtape.
